This is a story I wrote about two of my sisters who are in the Spirit World.
Marg and Gert Celebrating With Me This story is about two of my sisters who have passed over and are now in the Spirit World. Their names are Gertrude-whom we called Gert, and Margaret- whom we called Marg. Gert was my oldest sister, and Marg was number five in line on my siblings of nine children. I am the tenth and youngest of the family. Marg passed over several years ago, at the young age of fifty from a brain tumor. Marg had a lengthy illness and I am sure she was ready to move on when it finally became her time. We gave her all the love and care we could before her passing. Gert passed away last year from circulatory problems at the age of seventy nine. The story I would like to share is about a trip I made with two of my other sisters, Linda and June who are next to me in age, and our cousin Jenaine. She grew up with us and was always hanging out at our house when we were young. Since June and Jenaine don’t drive, Linda and I were in charge of doing the driving. It is about a four and a half hour trip one way. The trip was down to Southern Ohio, to visit Gert, last year when she was very ill and facing the last few weeks of her time on earth. She lived on an old farm with her husband Bill and her oldest son Bill Jr. or Billy as we call him. Billy was a school teacher, now retired, as well as a semi-farmer. Gert had been sick for a few years, but really sick for about a year. Her husband Bill was several years older had many health problems. He got to the point that he had to be placed in a nursing home. Billy took care of both of them, but could no longer take care of his father. Gert was barley able to take care of herself. Billy tried to do everything he could possibly do to help both of his parents out. After Bill was placed in the nursing home, Billy continued to take care of Gert. But Gert was getting worse all the time. Her legs were so bad from bad circulation that they were turning blue and cold. She eventually got so bad that she was bed fast. She didn’t want to go to the nursing home and would not allow a nurse to come in and help her on a daily basis. There were things that her son just could not do for her. Toward the end when she was bed fast except for being able to slide onto the potty chair. My sisters and I, the four of us that are left, would drive down for a day or sometimes two on a weekly basis to do the necessities for her that she couldn’t do for herself, baths, change her gowns, and bed covers, and some light house cleaning. She tried as hard as she could to be self sufficient and felt really bad that she had to ask for help. We let her know that it wasn’t a problem because she would do the same for us if we needed her. When we would bath her, she would feel sad that she was in such a bad condition that we had to bath her private parts. We would joke about it and turn it to a humorous situation so she would not feel bad. She would laugh with us. She was a strong willed and very private woman. She had made her doctor promise her that he would let her die at home and not have to go to the hospital. The doctor was not able to keep that promise. Gert’s legs were filling with water and while trying to help his mom one day, Billy accidentally scratched her leg, which immediately began to seep water. The doctor then ordered Billy to take her to the hospital. That was the beginning of the end for her. They called the next day and told us that the doctors had called the family in. She was a lot worse than she had been since we were last down to see her. It might be our last chance to see her alive. As I said earlier, June, Linda, my cousin Jenaine, and I went down to see her on what we thought was her last hours of life. She was in intensive care, so only two of us were allowed in her room at a time. Gert was in what appeared to be a coma. It didn’t seem like she knew we were there. We stayed at the hospital all night going in to see her at the allowed times. Billy and her other son Roy and his wife Sharon were there. We just sat and prayed while waiting for her to pass. We didn’t get any sleep all night and she still was hanging on. The doctors had thought she would pass anytime but then they said the next morning they didn’t know how long it would be. It was probably mid day when I went in to see her again. Since I am a spiritual healer, I said a prayer and did a healing for her. I then sang In The Garden, which is my favorite gospel song. I sang it to my brother to help him pass over to the other side when he was dying also. I thought it would help her to let go so she could move on and not suffer anymore. She was still in a coma like state. After I got finished with the healing and song, I whispered to her that I loved her and we were going back home to Toledo. All of a sudden, she sort of woke up and told me to be careful driving home. This was from a woman that had not communicated anything in over twenty four hours. I told her Billy was there and he said, “Hi Mom.” She smiled at him and said, “What are you doing standing there?” He told her he was just there to see her. Since she seemed to be somewhat bouncing back, we felt comfortable with leaving her to head back home. We were all exhausted from the drive down there and sitting up all night and into the next afternoon. We said our goodbyes and started our trip to Toledo. I was not sure how we could stay awake for the drive home. We stopped just north of Columbus to get a bite to eat. When we left the restaurant, I was so tired I was feeling weak. I started to drive and prayed to stay awake until we got home. We had no more than left the restaurant until my sister Marg popped in, -in spirit form-and started to communicate with me. OOPS. I think I forgot to mention earlier that I am a psychic medium and that some of my family members have communicated with me many times before. Anyway, Marg appeared in my thoughts and I started to feel better. She started giving me information, (spirit messages) for my sisters and my cousin. Of course, that woke me right up and energized me. I was not tired at all anymore. It was the same with my passengers. Marg talked to me constantly giving me information for my family that was in the car until we got about a half hour away from home. She kept me alert and made sure we had a safe trip back home. My passengers were wide awake also. The trip passed by quickly with her talking to me the whole way. It was an awesome experience for all of us. Even Linda, who can fall asleep as soon as she sits down, was wide awake and listening to the information that Marg was giving us. They thought it was a great experience. They had never seen me channel quite that way before. I think that is the longest channeling session I have ever had. I know very well that I would not have been able to stay awake driving if Marg had not been talking to me. Our angels, guides, and family member in spirit can help us when we are open and let them. Gert lasted for about a month after that day. She died a couple of days short of a month after her seventy ninth birthday. I know she left her sick old body, and went to the other side to meet family and friends and to continue her new life after death. For recreation, my husband Bob and I like to go to Windsor Canada to the casino there. We had made plans to go in advance on his day off from work. Gert died on the day we had planned to go. I told Bob I felt guilty going to play slots on the day my sister died. But then I thought; there is nothing I could do for her. The funeral wouldn’t be for a few days. We decided to go, and on the drive to the Casino. Gert popped into my mind and told me to not feel guilty. She and I were going to celebrate her day of going to Heaven, and I would come home from the Casino very happy. We got there and I went to a machine that I play sometimes. I hadn’t been playing ten minutes when I won two thousand dollars. When that happened, I smiled and got tears in my eyes, because I knew it was Gert’s way of helping me celebrate her death, and being released from her misery. I thanked her for helping me with the win and the celebration. It was a really cool and spiritual moment for me. It let me know that my sister was still with me in Spirit and that she wanted me to be happy and have fun. We went down for the funeral a few days later and I told her sons about the experience. They thought it was a nice conformation that their Mom still lived on in another life. She had the most beautiful funeral I have ever seen. It was just like her,- simple, spiritual, and good.
I have to tell another story about Marg. About six months after Gert helped me win the money, Marg told me one day she wanted to go to the Casino with me. She said we were going to celebrate. When we got to the casino, I went to the same machine as before and started playing. I hadn’t been there five minutes when just as I had with Gert, I won two thousand dollars. It was the same combination as before. I laughed and said thank you to Marg. I did celebrate the win by accepting her presence and her help. Sometimes when I get the information, I think it is my imagination, but I later find out it is not. I think it is really great that they both followed through with the same thing that they told me they would do. When I say I talk to them or them to me, it is in my thoughts. It is like a thought pattern that goes through my mind, but they tell you who they are. They don’t usually convey whole sentences, sometimes only a word or two, but they somehow get their message across. It is really an awesome spiritual experience. I feel truly blessed to have the gift from God to communicate with spirit. Whether you call them guides as I do, angels, or spirits. All we have to do is listen and they are there to help us.
