Druidic Bards: Gallow Bird
By Victoria's Poetry & Voices of Muse

atrocious is the sound of ignorance...
GALLOW BIRDS
Gallow bird swings in the charcoaled sky
Onlookers cheer their fear as another soul
Hangs from the hemp threads fraying noose
Spiral knots pirated,…weave fear and mayhems
Tightly nailed are those wooden arms…
The truth weeps upon silent branches…
Chaos rises to mortal greed
Those eyes of destruction and shackling rules…
Order in the courtyards!
Servitudes are never done!
Pull! Pull!
PULL!
Deafness can hear the command.
The floor drops below…lost are their measures
Barrels stepping stools reveal…
Hiding their truths behind identifiable masks
Knowing integrity sets to fire a flame in their soul
The sky echoes eternal freedoms
as the gallow bird swings to and fro…

| To levy punishment for one of his own, what man stands with sinless soul above reproach? Though I am certain many "Gallows Birds" deserved their punishment, who among mankind is there to administer justice? I'll ponder this work many times and think of countless more questions to ask myself regarding, who and why. This is certainly a thought provoking work Vickie. You have done this subject justice. May you know only peace, joy and love my dear friend. Jon Michael |

I read what you write, Victoria. But if anyone were to ask if I'm a poet, I must emphatically say no because when I write what I, very loosely, pass as poetry, my meanings and motivations are there in the open for anyone to see and for anyone to understand. But, if to be a true poet means I am to find the hidden meaning in words written by you or others that write as you, in all honesty I must admit that I am in no way a poet because I simply cannot fathom the meaning of your words. However I would still like to be considered as a friend.
