Dear Journal~
Louisiana here. At work today; that means no church until tonight, as well as missing out on a tasty breakfast at the Golden Corral with my family. Oh, well; not complaining: at least I have a job; so many other people don't! :) For that I can be grateful!
I just got here not even a half hour ago; running a little late. Seems that Ian and Isaiah decided to get into a fight with the baby powder. Powder everywhere! On them, on the walls of their room, in their crib, on the floor...goodness! I had a big mess to clean up! LOL
Called work and told my supe that I'd be running late because of what happened; he understood completely. All he could do was laugh. It's a good thing my boss was in a good mood! :)
At least I didn't have to fight traffic on I-65! Sometimes traffic here in Nashville can be a total nightmare! Yarg!! LOL
This Saturday (plus next Sunday) is our Harvest Festival; we are anticipating big crowds. The weather forecast, according to NOAA, calls for partly sunny to sunny conditions with highs in the lower 60's. Perfect Hallowe'en/Harvest Festival weather; you can't ask for more! :)
We are looking forward to it!! Hope we all have a wonderful time; hope all who come have a good time! And hope that some people find Jesus as a result of this! :) (That's the main purpose for the festival: to reach out to our city/community and show them the love of God.)
Of course, some of the children will probably dress up for the occasion; after all, there will be candy there; what's trick-or-treat without costumes as well as candy?? :)
I will be dressed up as a fair maiden from the Middle Ages while my husband plans on dressing up as the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz. Typecasting, I suppose? After all, he DOES have creaky joints! LOLOLOLOL
I'd like to see him try to stand or sit once he has his costume on. This is going to be interesting! LOL
Johnny is going to be dressed up as a farmer while Jodie is going to be a little yellow peep (the kind you eat). She is going to look so cute in her costume, and so will Johnny! Ronee' is going to be dressed as a spider (she did this last year; her costume was a hit, so she's repeating it again this year), while my youngest two, Isaiah and Ian, are going to be little hot dogs.
Emir and Arjun are going to be twin fat pumpkins while Rani, Janica, Sunshine, and Opal are going to be a quartet of pretty princesses. Sun Hee is going to be a little rapper-girl and Vijay is going to be Spiderman.
That's just some of them. Most of my other kids are going to dress up as well. Barbara wanted to be a pig; I told her no, especially since there's all this swine flu going around. That would not be a good idea. LOL So she is going to be a bottle of ketchup instead. :)
(She recently got over the swine flu herself. She was very sick: ended up in the hospital, in ICU. She nearly died, she was that ill. It was scary for us; thank God she recovered! Barbara will probably return to school next week, around Wednesday; doctor wants her to wait just a little longer, to make sure she gets all of her strength back. The flu really took a lot out of her; this is only the second time she will be out since getting out of the hospital.)
I hope the Titans turn things around and win today! They haven't won a game since the football season started; they are dead last! I am not happy with them! And as for the Vols (Tennessee State Volunteers), they lost, too, in the last few minutes of the game. Alabama beat them. I was not amused!! Talk about a heartbreaking loss; those close games are worse than the regular blowouts!!
At least Louisiana State won; as for the Ragin Cajuns--well, they lost. Again. 29-51. Darn it! They played like kittycats again! MeOW! LOL Not happy to hear the news; Louisiana-Lafayette (formerly USL) was my old alma mater, my old stompin' grounds!
Phooey!!
I love football; I prefer it to baseball. My husband is a football fan too, and so are a lot of my kids. Baseball is popular too, but in my family, football is the clear choice. :)
Well, I have to go. Time to get patient reports, then check on them, and take care of the patients I am assigned to. Hmm. Wonder where I will end up today? I shall see! :) Until later, this is Louie signing off; take care and may God bless you always!
~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Louie May. :)
