"I know it's been a while since I last put pen to paper..."

Milton Eddeston of Ames, Iowa, updates us on what is going on in his life.

Image (C) 2007, Karla Dorman.

Now that I am at lunch, in the cafeteria, I can write in here for a little bit.  I hope you don't mind.

I know it's been a while since I last put pen to paper (or fingers to computer keyboard--take yer pick!  LOL):  living on a farm doesn't leave much room for free time.  When I am not doing anything, I'm usually too tired, so I just go to sleep and saw logs for a million years.  LOL

It's me, Milton Eddeston.  I am sitting here in the cafeteria, trying to figure out the contents of the "mystery meat".  Can't be sure what's exactly in it, but it tastes like a combination of Spam, hot dogs, and roast beef.  Yummo!  LOL

The farm's still going strong:  no piggies dying or coming down with swine flu, thank the good Lord above!  Some people at school have come down with the swine flu (as well as the regular flu), but I keep tellin' 'em it's not MY doing!  I didn't give 'em the damn flu, and neither did my pigs, so why can't they just leave me (or my pigs) the heck alone??

I think Roy might have made up with me for when I beat the schit outta him; he's acting all nice towards me, like nothin's ever happened between us.  Weird!

I have found out some news:  I am going to stay with grandma Orie and grandpa Opie for Thanksgiving.  Guess ma and pa want me out of their hair for Turkey Day, so that's that.  I don't mind it, though; it will be good to get away from my parents at least for a little while.  Going to go for the whole weekend, which means I can go Christmas shopping with my grandfolks and my cousins.  They live in Cedar Rapids.   At least I get to forget about farming for a few days, so that will be a welcome change of pace for me!

The trees have since shed their skin (leaves):  they are now bare and it's starting to feel more and more like winter.  We might have some snow flurries by this weekend, the way the weather guys are talking.  Hope so; I'm ready for some snow; that way, I can break out my snowboard when I can get away from the chores!  :)

Well,  lunch is about over, so I am going to go, get ready to go to Espanol.  Taking Spanish this semester; it's hard!  NOT flunking it, but I am not doing very well in it.  Very frustrating!!  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Milton saying so long!  God bless and talk to you later!

~Milton Eddeston.  :)
