An unpublished story about a young man's return from the Vietnam War, and the effects it had on himself and his marriage. Metaphorically, it examines the early stereotyping of Vietnam Vets within the context of the 1960's, and juxtaposes that against the first President Bush war in the Gulf.

Excerpt: He followed his balls down the aisle. Just stood there at the altar like a bowler at the foul line glued to what looked to be a perfect strike. He stood stiff and erect, his sixteen-pounder hooking rapidly across the slick surface of his mind, slipping into the crease. He fired into the air, he imagined, as all ten pins exploded on impact. "Bout fucking time," he thought, as the minister positioned himself to utter the famous words: "We are gathered here before all mighty God...."
