a short story that was inspired by an urban legend.
Author's Introduction: I am pleased to announce that my short story The Hitchhiker's Wanderings is accepted on the website, The Alchemy Post. I wrote this story originally for the contest anthology about Urban Legends. I wrote this one seeing if I can do a character driven horror story without the gore. I have the ability to go either way here after writing this story. This story is published on a website which also published an author I have a great respect for, Joseph Armstead, so with that being said I am quite honored to be picked up by this magazine too. The story was written in Decemeber of 2005, and it was produced in a matter of days and it was about the length of House of Spiders and the new Science Fiction story, Flying Cigars. I am currently shopping this one around as I speak, but this other story I wrote is published on a site by a fellow author on AuthorsDen. The story was one of those that I never thought I would be able to capture what I was capable of doing without the gore, but this one has the eerie results. I would love to actually go back and make this story into a novella when time allows, but I am quite pleased that this one got published on the site that I have linked up. This one falls into the territory of some of my other Gothic horror stories but the difference is quite telltale here. I wanted to do a story that didn't have much vulgarity behind it. It was something I wanted to do more to have something my sister would be able to read of her older brother's work. The magazine with this story on it has folded so I am going to make the link available for people to buy The Writings Collected: Vol 2 since this is available in there or you can grab up Issue Three of The Ethereal Gazette because it is in there, you can grab issue three from Amazon.com. Pay no mind to the tags that a particular shithead editor put there in fact I've been boycotting any of the titles he put out there.
