Risen From the Dead
As told to Jim Stewart
This story was told to me by my Buddhist, Thai, friend. It is a remarkable story. I ask that you read it with an open mind, then draw your own conclusions. I have not been able to validate the claims in the story, distance and a language barrier. I have no reason to doubt the authenticity of his story, but again I ask that you read it with an open mind.
I being a spiritualist am often asked to interpret many things that happen to people. These people are being led to me. I often have discussions about the spiritual. Out of one such discussion, comes this story.
Tom, a friend of mind, approached me one day and asked if he could talk to me.I told him that I had all the time in the world that he needs. He preceeded to tell me that he was a Buddhist.I in turn told him how I enjoyed some of the teachings of Buddhism. How it was based on compassion of the heart. Tom told me that he had a deep bond with Jesus, Buddha and God. He also told me that his family felt the same way too.He said, "Jim, I have been here in states now for 15 years. Ten years ago I received a phone call from my parents, telling me that my grandmother had died. They wanted me to go home for the funeral." He told me that his grandmother had been sick for a while. Then he said, " I got everything lined up to go home. I needed to hurry because we do not embalm in Thailand. We cremate everyone. What we have for a funeral home, is like a warehouse. The bodies are put in wooden boxes and stored on a shelf. The family pays so much a day to store their relative. Families go to this funeral home and pay their respects. After the last of the people have visited, the family then pays for the cremation." It took Tom four days to get back to Thailand. By this time his grandmother had started to smell a little ripe. His parents picked him up at the airport and took him directly to the mortuary. He said that parents told him that they needed to go there first because they were getting complaints about the odor. When they got to the mortuary, then went inside and the attendant to them to where his grandmother was. After visiting for a short while, they were getting ready to go pay for the creamation and leave, when all of a sudden there was a voice saying, "Hello, my family. I'm glad you are here." Tom and his family tuned around. Tom's grandmother was sitting up. They could not beleive what they were seeing. She started talking to them. The odor was rapidly leaving her body. They reached out to hug her and she hugged them back.
She went home with them that day. She is still alive, five years after she had been declared dead.
Tom tells me that his grandmother tells them many stories of her adventures, while being dead. She tells them of the people that she saw and the placed she had been.
