How many of you have yo, yo dieted for most of your life? Why did you do this?
Prior to dieting can you recall what type of foods you consumed? How much and how many meals were you having?
What I find astonishing is how fad diets are big business for women of all ages and that the penny is just not dropping!
The way you body responds to being deprived of food is by slowing down, you become listless and sedentary.
When you starve your body by dieting, in effect you are threatening the most precious gift you were born with that makes you a unique individual (your body). To survive, it has only one option which is to slow down your metabolism.
All of you will be experts on calories, but, what you probably do not realise, is that you are giving your body no choice, other than slow down your metabolism until you need fewer calories.
Were you aware that each time you decide to put yourself on a calorie reduced diet the weight loss becomes slower and yet the weight gain accelerates? That is because each time you gain weight you only gain the fat not muscle and bone. Therefore, in effect you become probably, even fatter! The scary bit, is that you have reduced your body’s lean body mass.
How many of you have bad breath? This is something you may or may not want to admit to. The sad fact is that it is caused by your own toxic manure pile. Yes, you are rotting from the inside out.
As you age there will be more likelihood of you being more susceptible to different forms of cancer, heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis.
Why eat healthily? To enable your body to function properly it requires different nutrients. No one food contains all. Therefore it is important to have a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, rice, bread and pasta, to achieve a daily balanced diet.
Cereal per person about 50 grams. ¾ pint of milk per day per person. A main meal should comprise 2/3 carbohydrates, 1/3 should be protein. Rice/Pasta per person about 50 grams. 2 slices of wholemeal (whole-wheat/wholegrain) bread per person per day is more than sufficient.
Life is to be enjoyed and that includes eating your food. Eat and drink in moderation. The important message here is for you to love yourself, the body that was given to you. Treasure it and in return it will make you look a million dollars.
Points to remember. No fried foods, no Trans fat (which is not found in nature) but is a culprit in the modern world for obesity. No cakes, no biscuits, crisps, doughnuts. No sugary drinks.
Having a healthy lifestyle does not mean depriving yourself. On the contrary, train your brain to enjoy goods habits, the bad habits will soon be a thing of the past. Make this the time to say goodbye to diets forever! Move to the more sensible healthy eating way of living.
Stay fit, enjoy less pain and gain energy.
