Dear Ad friends,
I am asking for your help. I received a very offending message fronm an Ad member saying I am playing the race card regarding my current work situation. I emailed him and later deleted the offensive review. I am even more offended because of the comment he has made toward those of you who are kind and compassionate to lend me some support. I was ready to move on, but this so called Keith Rowley is taking this a bit too far. See below. I am still virtually new to AD, have any of you come across this type of problem? The last time this happened to me on AD I deleted the message and never heard from that person again.

Hi Nicole Weaver: Your irritation at my questions is apparent! I must say that I found the automatic and unquestioning sympathy offered to you by other AD members to be a touch nauseating (and mindless)! If you are going to publicly bleed and whine about alleged injustice then please accept that I and others of sound mind are entitled to question the veracity of your claims - especially when you whine about a few extra hours per month in your work schedule. When you make claims of the type you have, then you need to provide specific and contextual information so that your case may be assessed by others. You mention in your email to me that you actually have worked hard for your students out of hours without recompense; if you had stated this in your post then I would not have reacted as I did - blame yourself for an incomplete post. This is not racism - it is simply applying standards of evidence. As for me having lived through apartheid - yes I have - and I have realised here in Africa the emptiness and inherent falsity of that false creed. But it is you not I that screams racism. Your case seems thin indeed, as in the US you have adequate resource in law if you have a genuine case. Find a lawyer and sue for heavens' sake - or is there no case to answer, so you whine on line as a compensatory measure. I do not find you convincing - yet - but I have an open mind - do you?

Keith, You have no idea what you are talking about. No fool , I am not playing the race card. Th teacher contract says we should be given a certain amount of time to prepare lesson during the school day. The time for lesson planning was being used to attend additional meetings. Also for your information I have spent countless hour taking students to Europe and Canada without extra pay. I have given numerous hours of my time preparing students for national and regional competitions. Perhaps it would be wise for you to keep your mouth closed before making false assumptions. Perhaps I should post the article that appeared in my local newspaper about the racial discrimination that is going on in my district. But then again, perhaps I am asking too much of you given your past history with apartheid in South Africa.

Dear Nicole,
In our country, freedom of speech is a prized right, but a right that I believe should be exercised with consideration for others.
AuthorsDen is a community of writers and readers, a community filled with loving support and consideration. It is unfortunate that Mr. Rowley chose to challenge your postings when he could have easily just "walked away." This is not a perfect world filled with perfect people. I am gratified to see that Mr. Rowley "repositioned" his approached based on new information and wished you well. All's well that ends well.
Just know this, Nicole: You have and always will have my full support.

Nicole,
Be at peace dear lady. Although I enjoy robust debate it is not my purpose to offend but rather to challenge. As your friends advise below, concentrate on your writing and focus on success.
I wish you well, and hope that you are not the victim of racism, which is anachronistic and offensive to the vast majority of us. At least we can agree on that!

Dear Nicole, don't worry about others opinions and disagreements. Just keep writing and focus your attention on growing as a writer and further developing your voice. Self-disclosure is always going to garner disapproval and disagreement, even misinterpretation. Believe me, I'm in for it when my book comes out... possibly you can remind me of my own words then.
