Cancer, cancer, the ugly six letter word that somehow storm into our lives without being invited. Many are afraid of this six letter word. I for one know of many relatives and friends whose life was cut short because of this invasive enemy. I decided to start reading up on this terrible disease and the steps one can take to help keep this uninvited guess at bay. The following is what I have learned. I am not a medical doctor, but simply an avid reader. My intent is not make recommendations but simply to pass on information that I have read from many books and articles .
STEP# 1- EAT ORGANIC
I have been eating organic since 1985. I learned that foods grown on chemically treated soil is void of nutritional value. Eating chemically laden foods will saturate our cells with chemicals that the human body can't properly digest. The chemicals sit in our lymphatic system and they wreack havoc by disrupting cell activity in our bodies.
STEP# 2- EAT ONLY ORGANIC MEATS AND COLD CUTS
Cattle or chicken who have been fed chemically laden foods or steriods to make them grow faster is simply not fit for human consumption. Again, when we consume the beef or chicken the chemicals and steriods enter our blood streams and disrupt cellular functions. Years past , there was quite a fury about avoiding eating eggs because it supposedly elavated your cholesterol. Organic eggs are good for you; however feasting on eggs saturated with steriods is definitely a recipe for disaster. Lastly, eating cold cuts treated with sodium nitrates/nitrites is the last thing you want to do. I NEVER EAT cold cuts or bacon for that reason. Sodium nitrates/nitrites is a known carcegenic that is very potent.. Local health food stores carry bacon and cold cuts that have not been treated with these deadly chemicals.
STEP# 3- DO NOT EAT FARM RAISED SEA FOOD
Sea food was meant to roam freely in the ocean, not in a farm. In an attempt to make a bigger profit many fish and shrimps are raised in a farm. They are fed tons of chemicals, picture yourself eating that sea food. Are you getting the point? Need I say more? I buy sea food that are wild caught . The last thing I need is to consume a plate full of chemically laden fish or shrimp.
I have a ton of information on this subject, I will continue to post more articles on this topic. I buy all of my meats from my local health food stores near where I live. I always buy in bulk when there are sales. I believe I am worth it, organic is not that much more expensive than non-organic. From all my readings, I have learned , if you can't afford to buy all organic make every effort to at least buy meats first. It is very difficult to remove steriods from meats, but it is a lot easier to remove chemicals from fruit and vegetables by using a spray designed for that purpose. Most health food stores carry the spray.
UNTIL NEXT TIME- HAPPY EATING!
