Talk about taking chances with an idea; talk about attention-getter...this is it...
Exelent Writing Requirs Good Speling; Grammer; Punkuation
One day, I was fooling around with words, trying to come up with a title for an article, and I write the above title, only it was about ten words. I like to have my article titles about seven words or less. So, I re-wrote it about 6 times, and I finally had a title for an article. I was fooling around, of course...but, was I? I continued to polish this title...after all...I knew I would use it someplace in my portfolio of articles.
This piece was listed in the AD Top Ten List and Top 100 articles for awhile.

When I came on-line several years ago, I knew that my name would not be anywhere to be seen...afterall...who is Jerry Aragon? (yawn, here) There isn't anyone on the planet who knows my name...and if they do...my name is forgotten right away. (yawn, again)
I thought a catchy name, would be more effective right away, than to use my name for anything, Using my name for anything, is just a waste of space, etc.
When I came online, I had to have a catchy name for my website and for my email address. I got them right away...Humor Doctor and humordoctormd. When this happened, I could build around those two names right away.
Website name; humordoctormd
email addresses;
(primary) mradorable.centurylink.net
(secondary); humordoctormd.gmail.com
It would be medical, that I would build my marketing campaign around, I began with Bedlam General Hospital and Cheesy Medical Center. It would be in the operating room, where I would do all my cutting and pasting, and making a mess of everything. I've used business cards for my marketing endeavors forever, and the card reads;
The Humor Doctor
Jerry Aragon M.D.
(mentally disturbed)
Specializing in mal-practice
House Call
And, all the contact information
I make House Calls everywhere on the Internet and locally on paper, and the Internet House Call, goes like this.
The words "House Call" are placed the the Subject window, and the message goes like this;
To keep away from spam, I personalize the first line of the message; "JOHN SMITH" has received a visit from the Humor Doctor. "ABQ. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEMBERS" have received a visit from the Humor Doctor.
Knock; knock...
Who's there?
The Humor Doctor making a house call.
If you know somebody who is suffering from terminal seriousness...and that person wants to get more humor into their life...what to do?
Prescription: Take a large dose of vitamin H (humor)...jest for the health of it.
Everyone knows that laughter is the best medicine, for whatever ails you...the positive and healing power of humor. Thanks for your time (name goes here) and have a great week...doctor's orders! Here, I personalize the message again, to keep away from spam. I've been doing my little House Calls for over seven years, and I have never had a problem with spam.
Two different endings for the (online) marketing piece;

Bright orange envelopes w/paper; You ain't seen nothing yet, until you see bright orange envelopes and bright orange paper to go with it. Talk about an attention-getters...this is it! I developed Orange Barrel Humor in 1995, and I've been marketing my work with all this silliness for a long time, etc. These orange envelopes and the contents inside have the construction theme in them; orange barrels; barricades, potholes; cones; road signs; dead-ends; and I think the reader gets the picture.

Along the Bumpy Road of Life
The reader can learn more about the display show, by going to the link above. ATTENTION-GETTERS?
The SpaMobile Has Arrived; (beep-beep)
Within a month after posting, this article took the lead in publisher views at the article directory, and was published on 30 article directories.
I wouldn't consider using my name on a website or email address as an attention-getter. Quite the opposite...I would probably put people to sleep! (yawn, here) I've always wanted something that would spark the interest and curiousity of the public...a little creativity...and, of course a little humor...something that would leave a smile on a person's face, etc.
It's one thing to conceive an idea...and it's quite another to sell the idea and make it work. Using the imagination and taking chances with your ideas, is just part of the territory. Always remember and never forget...imagine that you have an imagination...scary, eh?
