Matthew 10:9-15 exegesis, attached to this article, too ..... !~!

Prepare a bible study for teenagers on Mt 10:9-15

Mt10:9-15 Bible Study:

Prepare a bible study for teenagers, as per guidelines.

3.1 Pray

3.2 Choose passage ... Mt10:9-15

3.3 Define God’s Message:

Disciples were told to rely on those who you encounter to provide food

and shelter, in return for their ministry work. Trust in God, as Providor

and Defender.

3.4 Questions

3.4.1 Why do you think that Jesus told the disciples not to travel with

extra personal luggage and coins? What lesson was He trying to

teach the disciples? Mt 10:9-10

3.4.2  How would the disciples find food and lodgings,

          during their ministry ??? Mt10:11

3.4.3  How long could disciples stay in one place??? Mt 10:11

3.4.4  What should the disciples do, when they enter a friendly town??? Mt 10:12

3.4.5  What action was to be taken by the disciples, when leaving

           an unfriendly place??? Mt 10:13-14

3.4.6   What fate is in store for the towns,

who did not welcome the disciples???   Mt 10:15

3.5 Explanations:

(3.4.1) Disciples were told to rely on those who you encounter to provide food

and shelter, in return for their ministry work. Trust in God, as Providor

and Defender.

(3.4.2) Disciples were to seek out godly men to provide food and longings,

among those people, that required their care.

(3.4.3) Disciples were told to stay in one house, until they had

finished their ministry, in that town.

(3.4.4) In a friendly town, the disciples should also extend a warm greeting

and be thankful for their hospitality.

(3.4.5) As disciples left unfriendly towns,  they were advised to shake the

dust off their feet, as a gesture of God’s disapproval of that town.

(3.4.6) On Judgement Day, the fate of towns unfriendly to disciples will

be worse, than the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, in Old

           Testament times.

3.6 Bible passages

                  Mt 10:9   =   Lk 22.35

              Mt10:10  =   1Ti 5:18

                                          Mt 10:12 =  1Sa 25:6

                                          Mt 10:14 = Ne 5:13; Mk 6:11; Lk 9:5; 10:11; Ac 13:51; 18:6

                                          Mt 10:15 = Ge 18:20; 19:24; 2Pe 2:6; Jude 7,  Mt 12:36; Ac 17:31;

                                                            2Pe 2:9; 3:7; 1Jn 4:17; Jude 6 ,  Mt 11:22, 24

3.7 Summary

Trust in God and seek out those, who will provide food and lodgings

for disciples, in return for their ministry, in Jesus’ Name.
