Dear friends,
Upon our return to your company after a short but delicious week of vacation – all we were able to dedicate to some repose and to the necessary “battery recharging” during this extremely busy summer – it is with the greatest pride and the greatest joy that we share some more excellent news with you all;
If his poetry was recently distinguished with a significant international award, this time it was Joseph’s photographic art the one to merit recognition by an international jury – that of the
Pilsner Urquell® International Photography Awards Competition
with a 3rd prize and three honourable mentions, as I proceed, with deep emotion, to detail:
This international photography contest, with the renowned Pilsner Urquell® beer brand and the Lucie Awards (the “Oscars” of Photography) as main promoters, is considered as the world’s most prestigious competition within this area of the arts, and thousands of photographers from all around the world submit their works to its jury every year.
The competition is open both to professional and non-professional photographers, and their works are evaluated separately (there are eight different categories for professionals and seven for non-professionals) by a jury that includes some of the most respected names in photography, of which just a few are mentioned below as an example:
Nan Oshin - Photo Editor | Los Angeles Times Magazine | Los Angeles, CA
Rémy Coste - President | French Photographers Association | France
Joie Davidow - Editor/Publisher | LA Style Magazine | Los Angeles, CA
Jeff Griffith - Creative Director | Scheer Advertising Group | New York, NY
Stephen Toner - Editor | Exit Magazine | UK
The eight categories open to the works of professionals, divided, in turn, into several different sub-categories, are: Advertising, Architecture, Editorial, Photography Books, Art, Nature, People, and Special (micro, digitally enhanced, etc.) and I specifically highlight them because it was as a professional photographer that Joseph entered this competition and was awarded the above mentioned prizes, as follows:
3rd Prize – “COLLONADE”
Category – Architecture
Sub-category – Historic
Honourable mention – “UNIVERSES BEYOND THE VISIBLE ~ ELEMENTS OF DREAM”
Category – Photography Books
Sub-category – Nature
Honourable mention – “SHADOW ART”
Category – Art
Sub-category – Abstract
Honourable mention – “AURA OF SOUL”
Category – Nature
Sub-category – Other
Very soon all the awarded photos will be featured in our website OneLight*® Authors & Creations and in the meantime, they can be viewed, along with the respective press-releases, at the following link:

Joseph is, of course, tremendously happy; I leave you with his statement:
“This was the first time that I submitted my photography to a contest. To compete with thousands of professional photographers from around the world is a great challenge. I entered the contest, mainly, to gain exposure for my work from a very distinguished panel of judges, not expecting really to win anything. It was with an overwhelming sense of joy and accomplishment that I was informed that some of my work had been selected to receive awards in such a prestigious competition.”
And with our most affectionate greetings to you all, along with our heartfelt thanks for your continued support and encouragement.
Your friends,
Alexandra* & Joseph* ~ OneLight*® Authors & Creations
