Horses and ponies have lived alongside man for around 6,000 years; they have worked tirelessly for us in industry and trade, on the land, and even underneath it in pits and mines.
They have given countless hours of pleasure to the millions worldwide who love horses and enjoy riding, grooming and competing with them.
They have provided inspiration for some of our greatest works of art – there have been songs and books written about them, paintings and sculptures, films and television programmes made about them – there’s even poet Robert Duncan’s famous ‘Ode to the Horse’!
If you’re one of the millions that is interested in these beautiful, amazing animals then this section is for you!
