Interview questions
How did you get your start in writing? –
I wrote a poem on assignment when I was in school. We were told to write a poem about loneliness. I thought up the best poem I could and turned it in. The teacher gave me an A but pulled me aside to ask if I needed to talk to someone. I couldn’t convince her that the poem was not really based on me. That is when I knew I had a knack for creative writing.
who are your biggest influences –
My biggest influences have been R.A.Salvatore, Jim Butcher and of course Tolkien, also the late James Clavell. If you have never read his work I highly recommend it, though it is not fantasy, his mastery over character/plot development is amazing.
What is your biggest inspiration when creating?
My biggest inspiration in creating is to build a world that is believable. Though I work in fantasy and create worlds and races that do not exist, I believe that it should all be believable. I also try to remind people that love, justice, and freedom are the greatest driving forces in the universe.
Could you give us the details of your current project?
My current project is the second book of the Whill of Agora trilogy; it starts out 6 months after Whill of Agora left off. Also The Adventures of Billy Coatbutton will be a series of 99c EBooks. This series will be for kids of all ages and will deal with those pesky sock gnomes that always take one of your socks from a pair. Readers will follow Billy Coatbutton on his adventures within the walls of Sockafellar Castle and in the wild outdoors.
What is the next goal you would like to achieve with your writing?
My next goal aside from the ultimate goal of writing full time is to finish my current projects.
Final four (questions we ask all interviewees)
When the zombies take over the world where will you be?
I will be hunkered down at home sharp shooting dyslexic zombies as they shuffle towards my house moaning for “Brians”.
Jedi, Ninja, vampire, were-wolf, pirate, fairy or Spartan?
Jedi all day.
What one piece of art, be it music, book, film or picture, do you think people must experience before they die?
- Whill of Agora…J
Give one fact that most people would not believe about you? –
On the first day of my senior year in high school I quit, along with my band and girlfriend (current wife) and took a greyhound across country to California. We had nothing but our backpacks and a few hundred dollars. You would be amazed how liberating it is to have nothing.
