Hmmm…sometimes we’re better off, more often than not. Then again, sometimes we ain’t.
Remember the good old days, before Obamacare. Back when the president inferred that our streets were filling up with the dead bodies of all of those people who were refused treatment, because they didn’t have healthcare insurance.
Hmmm…I do remember him inferring that, but I actually didn’t see any of those bodies in the streets myself.
Maybe that’s because it was illegal for hospitals or doctors to refuse treatment for someone in need because they didn’t have healthcare insurance. Then again, maybe that was only part of the reason for the lack of corpses in the streets.
I also remember the president telling us about the greedy doctors who were doing unnecessary tonsillectomies and amputations to pick up a few extra bucks here and there.
Hmmm… I wonder if those are same doctors who sometimes waive their fees to save the lives of those who couldn’t afford to pay for the life saving treatments they were providing.
Hmmm….Makes ya wonder who actually paid for all of that “free healthcare’ back then?
Ghee… I guess we did… that is…those of us who had healthcare insurance.
You see, it use to work this way….
If Little Stevie’s parents didn’t have health care insurance because they couldn’t afford it, doctors and hospitals saved his life anyway. Of course, they ended up being out $80,000 afterwards. So how did they get that $80,000 back so the hospital didn’t go broke and have to close down?
Hmmm…. I guess they raised the cost of their services for everyone else to make up for the loss. So then insurance companies had to pay more for your treatments.
So, how did the insurance companies keep from going broke and having to close down?
Hmmm…I guess they raised everybody’s health care policy costs.
Hmmm…so in the end, we, with health care insurance ended up helping to pay for Little Stevie’s life saving treatment.
Now some may agree with the president and say, “Why should we have to pay to save Little Stevie’s life? It ain’t fair.
Hmmm… Why should we pay for saving Little Stevie’s life, when the government can pay for it, right?
So here’s how we are going to do it….
Well, first the Government creates a multi hundred billion dollar health care insurance bureaucracy. You know, thousands upon thousands of new employees to shuffle and create all of the new paperwork to keep health care costs down. Next we send them all to Las Vegas a couple of times a year to attend seminars on how to keep health care costs down. After that we hire thousand of new IRS agents to punish the people who don’t pay the new health care tax.
Q&A
Q: Can I still keep my own insurance and doctors?
A: Why sure! That is… If they are still around and you can afford their new higher costs.
Q: Who ends up paying for this new multi billion dollar government bureaucracy in the end?
A: Well…a … I guess you do.
Q: Will my health care insurance rates still go up?
A: Well…a ..Yeah.
Q: With all these added costs, what is Little Stevie’s bill now?
A: About four million dollars…but don’t worry, folks, the government will pay for it now.
