What happened when my interview took place.
|
|
Manager, Senior Developer |
I attended for interview last week. The Multi Cultural Association was looking for a Multicultural Development Officer and willing to pay a reasonable salary.
I seemed to have a good interview and left optimistically to await the result.
Today I learned my fate. I was asked to call at the office.
"It was your last sentence, which did it." I was told. The last sentence of my application placed on the Association my only demand. That being that I wished to do this work voluntary. The salary could go towards the cost of activities.
"We have appointed a young Argentinian man as the Multicultural Development Officer." I smiled. That was appropriate. I could accept that I was not getting the post. But then Satki Nacci said.
"Your letter made us realise we could appoint two people. The Multicultural Develpment Officer and an Office Manager who will also supervise as the senior multicultural Develpment Officer. We offer you that position."
So I now work part time on a voluntary basis five afternoons a week as the Office Manger and Senior Development Officer. It's a mighty task especially as Multiculturalism has lost its way but a Multicultural Advice Centre is required and I have plans to get each community to write a story about their home country and what they now do in Scotland to take round primary schools. |
