Dear Sheila:
Warm greetings from your Editors, Curtis Lang & Jane Sherry.

This is the year of the Tiger in Chinese astrology, and 2010 has started off with a roar heard round the world, as a terrifying, city-destroying earthquake hit the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, leaving an unknown number of dead, perhaps as high as 200,000, a leveled city infrastructure, and millions of homeless in the Western Hemisphere's poorest country.
American relief efforts have so far focused on sending military aid, and as of today, almost no water or food or medical supplies have reached the hurricane victims, many of whom are only a few miles from the Port-au-Prince airport.
But there's good news! A longtime friend of Satya Center, The What If? Foundation has provided food and health services to the poorest of the poor children in Haiti for many years, and has already succeeded in bringing vital supplies into Port-au-Prince. At a time when major relief agencies can't get through to the people because of security concerns, the What If? Foundation is making a difference, saving lives, and helping hard hit survivors.
"There is no Port-au-Prince anymore," says Lavarice, the Haitian on-site co-ordinator for the What If? Foundation. "No one can be there without crying. Everyone is suffering. So many hurt. So many dead. So many without food and water. No aid from the Port-au-Prince airport has reached the neighborhoods I've visited. There's nothing. Everyone is waiting. We are the first group to be able to provide any relief to the St. Clare's area. The need is so great. It's very complicated to distribute aid because there are thousands and thousands of people without food and water in the community. We started yesterday. You have to be careful and pass out the food and water safely and compassionately, involving members of the community in the distribution process. This is how it can work smoothly and help the most people. We haven't had any violence."
*( This must be done right) God Bless Them "All"! The town I live in is doing A LOT, from Schools gathering and started funds, to bringing clothing, sneakers/shoes for different drop-off dates... to Bake Sales, and Dances, to raise money to HELP! School Children are taking a BIG Part in all they are doing, "I" am PROUD of them! Being a School Bus Driver, it is really GREAT to see and know...
I am helping by collecting old cellphones, not used / wanting other styles/etc. and dropping off. I have heard there is a NUMBER you call, and text and it will send $10.00 over to them. I just want to see what NEEDS to be done and done RIGHT! and DONE QUICK as POSSIBLE! ASAP! With many Military Personel/etc. assisting.
GOD BLESS THEM ALL! * Any ideas you can share that is being DONE!??? or YOU know can be done! WE also have "RUNNERS" in this town in Mass. near Boston, getting Sponsors to raise awareness and money for the Haiti Fund!
Read our Report from Haiti to get more of the latest news from the suffering city of Port-au-Prince. You'll find links leading to the What If? Foundation, where you can make a difference, by donating money to one of the very few aid agencies currently operating successfully in the epicenter of this global disaster.
The Year of the Tiger creates significant challenges, but also presents amazing opportunities for accelerated spiritual advancement. One of Satya Center's closest friends, Mongolian-Native American shaman Jade Wha'oo Grigori, is leading a group of intrepid adventurers to the mountaintops and Amazonian rainforests of Peru to experience mountain-top power spots and Amazon Rainforest Shamanic Adventures, April 17 - May 2, 2010.
GOD BLESS THEM ALL! With a Miracle for Transformation!
Due to all the "administration" cost of various groups of renown as well as the economics improprieties of many an individual which prevent funds and packets to reach the needy, we extend our monetary and packets only to the Salvation Army of which we have contribute for the last 50 years.
God bless and help Haiti.
