Self-discovery with the goal of happier and healthier living
I have been in a phase of self-discovery and am trying to find a way for me to be happier with who I am. I find that emotional baggage from my childhood sometimes interferes with my happiness and I began to seek ways to deal with the unhealthy sadness and anger.
One of the things I learned that daily affirmations and daily review of goals helps me stay on the path. In reading about self-affirmations I have found that there are many people who do them daily with very positive results, so I try. I love myself, and I accept who I am are examples. I have read a wonderful book called The 4 Agreements by Miguel Ruiz, I would recommend this book highly to anyone. Don Miguel takes Toltec teachings and puts this into four simple agreements that can change your life. These agreements are simple and make good sense. I will need to practise to achieve the heaven on earth that he says is possible.
I went to a Reiki healing last week and it was fantastic! The healing is for the spirit as well as the emotions and the body, a very holistic approach to life. As a nurse holistic theory seems to be correct as you must heal in all these areas in order to heal at all. I am going to take some classes on Reiki so that I can do it myself. I am trying very hard to love myself in such a way that I can love others more fully, something I could not have said a month ago. When I feel at peace within my self I am much more able to share that serenity with others.
A poem to explain my dream.
Seeking the dream
Seeking my dream,
and love within.
Promising my heart
and spirit its freedom
Becoming self-aware.
Goals of serenity,
contentment,
peace within.
Calming the inner child.
Giving up need,
to control.
That which
cannot be bound.
Alone I travel
my path.
As must we all.

We all have these moments and how we choose to deal with them is how our life will be for us. One must always think wonderful thoughts of themselves and try to heal within. Enjoyed reading article and poem.
Also liked the Hard woman. |

Great blurb and poem Sandi. I to am a Nurse.
When I was lost and searching I found that working out at a gym really enpowered me, it makes you strong in a way, you wouldn't believe. I am also a fan of holistic ways, I think all nurses!!! |
