Words across the Atlantic to the United Kingdom from one writer to another.
Addiction is a message in a bottle to be discovered on every wave.
(Excerpt from the Harrogate Advertiser of the UK.)
Time to say no to heroin
By Sarah Kelly
A MAJOR new campaign to tackle heroin in Harrogate has been launched by the Harrogate Advertiser.
Harrogate police, Phil Willis MP, the town’s mayor, the leader of Harrogate Council and the town’s leading drugs support group are all backing the new initiative which aims to help prevent heroin related deaths and cut down drug related crime in the town by highlighting the issues,
............................
Hi Sarah Kelly,
Very good article.Keep up the good work.
I am an author and pharmacist, in fact I worked in a detox center today. I am beginning to notice the center is full each time I have worked lately. And what is sad is most all of the substance abuse victims look to be teenagers.
Sarah, heroin and cocaine are two very addictive drugs as you know. Three years ago I was composing Fatal Addiction and with research discovered a hospital drug used for severe pain.
It's fentanyl which I learned is one hundred times stronger than morphine.
So in my latest book I had a section where I had terrorists combining fentanyl and OxyContin as a generic. This drug in their plans was to make available to all the kingpins, junkies and pushers and at a certain designated date spread the drugs on all the streets of America.
Lately in maybe eight states the combo of fentanyl and heroin has caused several hundred overdoses.I am really surprised that this drug has possibly been concocted in Mexico but that is what they are saying.I hope and pray it will never be available in Harrogate.
There is no way for the cons to measure a correct dosage in combination with Heroin so this is bringing on more overdoses.
Fatal Addiction is available in the UK and all over the world book outlets. Many folks have let me know it has saved quite a few lives when read by someone exposed to addictive drugs.

Just like a message in a bottle I have no idea whether the writer for newspapers has received my article?
Some times I pause to take the time to see the response from the editor of the paper and other times the writer lets me hear.
No matter, someone did read it and hopefully they got my message.
I feel I increase the odds that another person might think twice before they swallow a drug for hallucinations. |
