It's so exciting looking at the many photos of items submitted to the Desert Sun / Antique Roadshow Contest. The desert has so many wonderful hidden treasures . . . While I'm lost in the photos, my over active imagination along with my curiosity transcend me to different periods in history and various settings . . . I am lost for hours! Sadly, the Antique Roadshow will only cover a rare few items. I encourage the Desert Sun to assign photographers and 'experienced antique reporters' to capture as much as they can. It would be wonderful if the Desert Sun did a featured section covering items that don't make the show. It's important to share the visual treasure while protecting the identity of the owner (if requested). This amazing art and treasure venue must somehow get captured as the Antique Roadshow is limited with only a hour show.
Okay, let me dream bigger! What if the Palm Springs Desert Museum had an exhibit of the items that will be shown on the show, immediately following it! The show will air in the fall. Also, they could seek other items from the Desert Sun / Antique Roadshow Contest that did not get appraised because the owners could not get tickets. The owner could present the history of the item in a paragraph with the display.
Oh well, I can dream can't I? One thing for sure, get a nice cup of your favorite tea, or a glass of vintage wine and relax while enjoying the Desert Sun /Antique Roadshow Photos Contest entries . . . They are really intriquing, quite thought provoking and if you have an imagination like mine . . . you too will be left pondering their history and delighting in their beauty.
I encourage the residents to go to the Desert Sun 'Photo Galleries' and hit the Antique Roadshow Contest photos.
