These stunning animals nearly took my breath away...

Wild Horses Written By Joyce Bowling October 07, 2006
This afternoon my husband asked me if I would like to go for a ride through our beautiful mountains on our ATV Rino. I hadn't been out of the house much the entire week that I had been home on fall break, I thought it might be a nice way to relax and agreed to go for the ride. Just as we were getting ready to leave, I grabbed my cell phone in case of an emergency and I decided to take our camera, I love taking pictures of the mountains and nature, well really I enjoy taking pictures of almost anything.
A camera is a nice to thing to have on the route that we ride. You see it isn't uncommon to see deer grazing in meadows, or an occasional elk standing proudly on a mountain side, and we have seen one or two coyotes before as well several turkey's along these riding trails on our farm and in on the mountain trails also.
It was a georgious day for a ride, the temperature was cool enough to be comfortable, the leaves were beautiful and turning golden yellow, along with shades of orange and red. We spotted a few wild turkeys as we began our ride up the mountain and several deer tracks, but then the most beautiful and stunning sight I have ever seen on any ride before caught my eye. There just a couple of hundred feet from our ATV was six beautiful wild horses grazing. We stopped and I took two pictures before they ran away. I sat there for a minute and enjoyed the beautiful sight, two of the six horses were young colts which enhanced the scene even more. I couldn't wait to share our glorious find with everyone at the den. One of the many natural beauties that can be found in the state of Kentucky.

| The picture is truly beautiful. Being a lifelong resident of Kentucky, I am a little biased of course, but I have to say that it's beauty can be seen all over. Thank you for sharing this. |
