This article was inspired by a sad incident as well as a beautiful poem "Prayer Evolves" written by a dear den friend Lew Duffy.
Child Like Faith Written By: Joyce Bowling Copyright November 2006
We have often heard the term "child like faith" or at least I know I have. Being a mother, grandmother, and elementary teacher I realize that when a young child asks for something, he often expects as well...even in prayers.
This week I was reminded of the sincerety of a child's faith. Tuesday during a routine day at school I recieved a call from a teacher down the hallway telling me that our principal had passed out in the restroom and hit his head on the ceramic tile, causing him to require stitches. We were and still are unsure of the reason that he passed out, maybe light heart attack or stroke. But after hanging up the phone I asked my first grade students to lay their heads down for a moment as I wanted to call my mother to ask her to contact our church prayer chain to begin prayer for our principal. I knew that my students understood what I was talking about, for this is the group of students who want to say grace..."God is great, God is good, let us thank him for our food" on a daily basis before going to lunch.
After hanging up the phone, I turned to tell my students that they could raise their heads and thank them for their wonderful behavior while I was on the telephone. That's when I was reminded of the child like faith, more than half of my beautiful first grade students had their hands doubled in prayer for their principals health and recovery. Prayer does evolve often sooner than we think.
Continue to pray for our principal, he is good man and a dear friend to me, the other teachers, and most of all to our students. Thank you Lew for inspiring this article through your beautiful poem..."Prayer Evolves."

| Dear Joyce how wonderful to be able to say this beautifull prayer. Especially in our heart. For sure prayers are answered instanly while we are still praying. Those who feel, will understand the answer immediatly. Thank you for sharing with us this human experience. God Bless, Emile |
