I Dream of You

We nod our introductions and pursue our mutual search, pondering, "Are you my soul mate?"

I Dream of You

Even before we meet,

Your image and qualities fill my soul

With the need of you.

I Dream of You

Across space, you come to me
With unwavering eyes.

You cling to me
With a warm and gentle smile.

I know you in my heart.
No words are spoken,

Yet I hear you clearly—

“Am I pleasing to you?”

My heart beats my secret—

“Surely, you are the most beautiful

Creature ever created by God.”

With ethereal presence,

Your vision enraptures—

Enticing luxury of soft clinging hair,

Exciting curves of hips and legs,

Spellbinding rhythm of movement,

Aromatic scent, fresh and clean.

My eyes perceive your form—

How you wear your clothes,

Your well-groomed appearance of

Legs smooth and tan.

We nod our introductions and

Pursue our mutual search, pondering,

“Are you my soul mate?”

I feel your personality

In our easy conversation,

In the sound of your voice.

Do you both talk and listen?

Are you thoughtful?

Caring?

Do you laugh easily?

Oh, you’re so beautiful…

But are you sensitive?

Responsive?

Are you shy, quiet, reserved,
Nonforceful?

Are you confident, self-assured, assertive,
Forceful?

Neither is a deal breaker, so they say.

I search for the vital answers that
I'll know in minutes

Do you share personal feelings?

Experiences?

Details of life?

Are you close and reticent,

Keeping everything to yourself,

Holding privacy above sharing?

Are you a discloser or a nondiscloser?

My matchmakers say this element

Is critical.

If we match, we have staying power.

If we don’t, we’re fooling ourselves

For the healthy lusting of enduring love

Feeds on harmony of souls and nature.

Yet chemistry rises to participate—

Are you attractive?

Desirable?

Compatible?

Do I enjoy your company?

When I hold you tomorrow,

Will I feel lasting excitement?

Yet even as I move to you,

I know you are looking, too—

Will he provide and secure my life

And the well-being of our children?

Is he attractive?

Desirable?

Compatible?

Is he intelligent?

Responsible?

Respectful?

Does he laugh easily?

Do I enjoy his company?

When he holds me tomorrow,

Will I feel lasting excitement?

Tonight, I will dream.

Tonight, I will feel your presence

With my body and in my soul.

Tomorrow, my heart will know.

Tomorrow, I’ll pray for whispered words.

Tell me true, Love.  Tell me true,

“I Dream of You.”

Richard, this has to be my favorite of all your poetry. What a perceptive, well-done piece on the destiny of love and soul coupled with the questions each of us has to ask. Only someone who has been there, as you obviously have, can write a piece like this. Your sense of rhythm and delivery are impeccable..................................Jerry

.....words like this spill from deep within, this is of beauty, compassion and connections have no rhyme or reason...it is just there. The music brings it all together...wonderfully wrapped as 'one', stunning Richard.

Richard, The blending of the youtube music and video, sends sensual messages toward soul fulfilling energy. The union of two soul mates are as powerful as your words and then more like the fusion of two souls that are perfectly connected as one soul and then exploded into a dynamic union of bodies that continue to entwine until physical energy is completely depleted of motion. You have touched a chord here with this dynamic presentation, to unbridled fantasy of that soul mate connection.

Very erotically and tastefully done my friend,
Peace, love, and light,

Hi Richard, A powerful write from a powerful heart. "I know you in my heart." As it should be and what everyone wishes it to be. One cannot write like this if he does not already possess it. Truly amazing... thank you for sharing this...
