The Pendulum of Love
Open Letter to Victoria L. McColley
My dear Victoria,
With your lyrical poem His Perfection, you have honored me with undeserved glorification. Thank
you for your loving and awesome tribute, my Beautiful Soul.
But I’ve learned the Pendulum of Love swings wide on Authors Den as attested to by the countless
members who have gifted me with the treasures of their posted writings, their heartfelt reviews of my
work, and their personal email messages to me unburdening their hearts by sharing their traumatic
stories of grief and loneliness and expressing their interest and support in how they have been helped
by reading my writings and the inspirational writings of all of our wonderful members of Authors Den.
Many women members of Authors Den—and millions of women throughout the world—have suffered
unbelievable turmoil, anguish, sorrow, degradation, loneliness and despair by spousal abandonment
and by the pain and suffering they have endured from psychological and violent domestic abuse. In
my words of dedication to my posted short story about spousal abuse, Crooked Woman Fool, I
honor my dear Authors Den friend Valerie Ann Roeske—and untold others—who have walked the
ugly path of domestic abuse only to survive and to be reborn in life by coming to know in their hearts
and souls that all we have in life is Love.
I have tasted the exquisite pleasure that comes from touching another soul with understanding, support
and honest caring and know that the Pendulum of Love is truly a gift to the heart from God. I am
blessed beyond belief.
With love and sincere respect,
Richard Lee Orey
