There is a point.

My friend and mentor Larry Bowie and I were talking today about all kinds of things. One of the things we touched on was the fact that Charles Manson changed the way mainstream America thought and felt about Hippies.
After the murders perpetrated by the Manson family, mainstream America was no longer as tolerant of the Woodstock Generation. Thinking that instead of a free love society, it was about mayhem.
In reality it was about change for the better and love for all.
But I digress.
The question came up that at what point does a well meaning charismatic person like Charles Manson, Jim Jones, or David Coresche, deviate from their well meaning beginnings. At what point does it become about "Me," instead of the good of humanity it started as? Where is the line?

It was then he told me about a Native American fable his mentor had told him.
In this story several children are asking a Shaman, "How do we know which is the right path? How do we know what to do?"
The Shaman tells them, "In all of us there are two wolves, one good, one evil, fighting for control of us."

The children anxiously asked, "Which one will win?"
To which the Shaman replied, "The one you feed."

Thanks Larry. Your therapy sessions are always the best.

Larry - Sounds like a Deep thinker and a serious talker Walt! I love Indian Culture and their parables about the Spirit of Life. That's great that two minds can hash over others beliefs for a time a two.. Sounds like a Wonderful Friend! I'm happy for you! Manson had screws loose as we know and Emotions that conflicted, with many! As it should..

P.S. I located a Crime/Murder Book at at Yard Sale, about Seriel Killers, their Past!Childhood and what their Triggers were/are...I found that book Eye-Opening. Treasures are Everywhere! Yard Sales! Garage Sales and Flea Mrkts! I almost became obsesssed and had to practice limits/sacrifices lol

two wolves for the majority of mankind -- but nature and the forces did not treat all men equally -- some were deprived of a second wolf and others intentionally morphed into sub human qualities -- Manson was surely one of the self morphed -- another would be prince of darkness -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

I've always liked that old Native American proverb; but I like most old Native American proverbs.

Love this native parable which is so true for the charismatic leaders are on both sides of the fence...for every Charles Mansion there is a Mother Theresa, for every Adolph Hitler there is a John Kennedy etc etc

Nice way to put it, but many people like the mentioned above never had two wolves, they were born with just the bad one inside that didn't needed to be feed.
