Sistah Joy contnues to write, teach & share poetry, performing occasionally with Doc Powell, her partner on Djembe; with her Jazz & Poetry ensemble, Lyrical Rhythmzz; or accompanied by other area musicians. In addition to her first book, Lord I'm Dancin As Fast As I Can, referenced in the above article appearing in the Washington Post in 2005, she has since published This Garden Called Life and From Pain To Empowerment-The Fabric of My Being.
