Seeing your life with clarity allows you to create a beautiful world.
Clarity
"That's the way things come clear. All of a sudden. And then you realize how obvious they've been all along."
Madeleine L'Engle, The Arm of the Starfish, 1965
Have you ever awakened after a deep sleep and opened your eyes to see your world as a blurred series of colors? You know a vision of what you know as real appearing as a make believe universe. You rub your eyes to clear the blurry world and as if a miracle has occurred you witness the ending of one world and begin to see your old familiar world come sharply into focus. You see your world with clarity and you become oriented and at peace.
"We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves."
Lynn Hall, Where Have All the Tigers Gone?, 1989
I feel that life can be described in the same way. As I become older I see my world with clarity that as a youth I only saw as a blur. Even just a few years ago I felt like a fog had descended over my world creating a vision of an unknown oasis. The surrounding countryside blended together and formed a pathway that I could not discern. I could not see my direction because it was hidden behind a veil of unknown dimension.
"...the fog is rising."
Last words of Emily Dickinson (1830 - 1886)
It was during a moment of silence when my mind was stilled that I saw a speck of light amid this self induced fog. The veil that covered my world seemed to lift just enough for me to see a vision of what my world could be. It was this vision that created energy and began to expose an obscure path before me. I saw with clarity that my world could be better and that I could create a new story of how my life could be.
"We lift ourselves by our thought, we climb upon our vision of ourselves. If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and of yourself. Hold the ideal of yourself as you long to be, always, everywhere - your ideal of what you long to attain - the ideal of health, efficiency, success."
Orison Swett Marden
Throughout my life that fog rose and fell and inundated my mind with thoughts of my new life. Each time I saw a glimpse of how things could be the veil descended and caused me to wonder, to think, and to grow into the vision I saw. My world changed in proportion to the time I gave to creating the world of my dreams.
"Before you begin a thing, remind yourself that difficulties and delays quite impossible to foresee are ahead. If you could see them clearly, naturally you could do a great deal to get rid of them but you can't. You can only see one thing clearly and that is your goal. Form a mental vision of that and cling to it through thick and thin."
Kathleen Norris
It is in the recognition and the awareness of your dream that makes the dream come true . Recognize the feeling it gives you and allow that feeling to overwhelm your senses. Shape that vision, listen to its wonder, give it energy, and provide it the space to grow. It is these things that create new worlds.
"Vision - It reaches beyond the thing that is, into the conception of what can be. Imagination gives you the picture. Vision gives you the impulse to make the picture your own."
Robert Collier
Hold fast to the vision you have of the potential your life offers this world. Give it space and allow it to grow into the most beautiful of creations. See it clearly and focus upon the changes you can make to your world. It is in these changes that you will bring clarity to your world.
"We don't know who we are until we see what we can do."
Martha Grimes
