A shapeshifter, dragons, adventure and magic; Atreyu never asked for any of it, but nevertheless acquired them. Meeting a black cat changed her whole life. Our heroine is sent on a wild journey making plenty of friends as well as enemies. Thirteen-year-old Atreyu never really fit in and meeting Shadow, our shapeshifting hero, made everything go topsy-turvy. Atreyu’s whisked away to a deviant realm, where she journeys to save this new-found world. Will Atreyu be able to save this kingdom, or will she have traveled this far just to fail?
“Shadow!” Atreyu screamed. “Where are you? Help me!” She fought against the thing holding her down, but she didn’t succeed.
“Atreyu!” Shadow’s voice sounded far away, “Atreyu, stop moving and hold as still as you can okay?” Atreyu nodded but of course Shadow couldn’t see her. Before Atreyu could do anything else, the grip on her feet disappeared and a horrible monkey-faced monster came up to her and tried to attack her.
She started to panic, “Shadow! Help me! There’s a creature here!” Before Atreyu even finished her sentence, the monkey-faced creature leaped on her, but before the creature reached her, Shadow came in the form of a fierce dragon and attacked the monkey. The two creatures fought each other for quite a while, then the monkey fled.
