We read the Lord's Prayer, and so do our kids, but do they understand this perfect prayer?

The Lord’s Prayer~~~~explained in simple language
Dr. Dorothy Holtslander

“Our Father, who art in heaven”

(My Daddy. Who is in heaven…watching over me,, guiding me)

“Hallowed be Thy name”

(Your name is holy, above all other names)

“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.”

(We await your presence here, and will live according to your Holy Word here, on this earth, as we shall in heaven with you)

“Give us this day our daily bread.”

(Give us your Word, our spiritual food that nourishes our spirit as bread does our bodies)

“And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.”

(Please forgive the wrongs we have done against You and others, just as we forgive those who have wronged us.)

“And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.”

(I know You will never tempt us or take us to a place where we will be tempted, but the evil one will tempt us and lie to us. You alone can save us from him and his evil deceit,)

“For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory,
Forever and ever….Amen”

(Daddy you are the King of all, only you have power over our lives.
You alone are praiseworthy and your reflection should be seen in us .
We will praise you throughout eternity.
We agree in truth)
