As you go about your business throughout the day, whatever it is or wherever you are, you are constantly observing people: passing them on the street, etc. As you observe people you make judgements about them -- sometimes conscious judgements and sometimes subconscious. Nevertheless, we all make judgements. Particularly about people who for some reason catch our attention. You may pass someone and get the impression, "That poor person is not well." You may get a distinct impression that someone has a problem with their liver or some other organ. Perhaps it is due to their facial color, complexion, or some other subtle sign that you subconsciously pick up. These are signs that something in their body is not in balance.
All living organisms have a balance. This includes the planet earth, which is also a living organism. In fact the whole cosmos is a living organism and it hosts living organisms that are so varied and numerous that it is not possible for the human mind to begin to grasp the expanse. However, we can begin to get an idea of the vastness by taking a starting point, for example, such as one square inch of your skin. There are thousands of organisms on that one square inch. Our body is literally a cosmos in itself for millions of life forms, and each of those are yet hosts for other life forms, etc. There is no limit. The universe is infinite in smallness as well as in bigness.
The planet earth is currently not in balance and, just as with a human being, if is not put back into balance there is a point where equilibrium cannot be reestablished. Therefore, if we expect planet earth to be healthy enough to support our grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and beyond, we need to recognize the fact that the metabolism of planet earth is out of balance and it isn't going to get better by just letting it go.
