The Hero Always Wins
Book Review
The hero always wins. In every story, in every legend, the hero would always win against an impossible evil. A sinister foe bent on world domination, the end of man, the dark lord, Sauron falls at the hand of the gentle and innocent, Frodo Baggins. Lies and betrayal thwart the Game of Thrones, Lannister against Stark, but the heroes are ready to fight to their journey’s end. The boy that lived, the one to end the death and misery of Lord Voldemort puts his life on the line, risking all, but the hero always wins. Yet, on the wings of The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, and Suicide Kings, nothing is what it may seem. A hero to its foe, a blood thirst for destruction and domination, and a journey to begin.
Two paths are about to collide. In a scene of mayhem, lives destroyed, the hero charges forward with sword at the ready. Magic pulses through his veins, and his enemy is near. Eyes that spark of blue cut down the fires of red, but with his enemy gone, did he truly save the day? And then he finds her, the one mourning over siblings lost, the young woman, whose fate is now tied to his.
In every journey, tragedy strikes. Those we hold dear to our beating hearts fall away under our enemy’s hand, or is it our own that takes them down? The love we craved now boils with hatred, and truth is masked under the sickness of lies and betrayal. Has the hero gone mad?
And she has run away, escaping the nightmare left behind. Fate is hers to carry now, but it is a power unwanted. All she wants is to go home, but the road is long, hard and cold. And no stone would be left unturned. With the object of her desire finally near, peace would not be there with open arms but screaming a battle cry. It’s time for the little champion to rise.
And journey twists and turns, keeping us on the edge of its sword. We dangle against loyalty and betrayal, hero against foe, love burning under hate. We hold to the power of imagination, the touch of magic, and we gasp and breathe. With every page, with every word, we sink in further to a world beyond our own, a world, where The Hero Always Wins, written by Robert Eaton.
