Thinking up the right title to catch readers can be  a challenge! Why not use movie titles? They are coined by professionals. Of course, recent movie titles would not be advisable. But how about a  movie made 30 or 70 years ago?

These titles were designed not only to attract people to pay money to see the movie, but to pay to view a particular movie rather than another. Even small towns had two cinemas, large towns, four or five.

Movie titles and names are designed to catch attention. In this book you'll find thousands of titles, listed with years, going back to 1920. Of course, you don't have to copy them exactly. You can make slight changes and use them as a springboard. 

You can also see at a glance which words are catchy and which are not. For example, only one movie among the thousands of titles listed begins with the word, "Tales". You would think "Tales" a very popular title. The problem is over-use. Also it's associated with children, and children do not pay money to see movies or buy books. Their parents pay.

On the other hand, nine titles begin with "That",  because it's an emphatic word that draws attention. For a similar reason, ten titles begin with "They", sixteen with "Three" (a much more attractive number than "Two"), and nineteen with "You".

Attractive titles are not all this book supplies! You can also use the names of the actors and the characters they portray. For instance, here's a once extremely popular but now largely forgotten 1939 movie, "Only Angels Have Wings". In the cast credits are such fascinating names as Melissa Sierra, Elana Duran, Candy Candido, Curley Dresden, Wilson Benge, Jack Lowe. You can swap first names around and make wonderful combinations like Elana Sierra, Melissa Duran, Curley Candido, etc.
