The premise is that Spiritual, and emotional healing occur through the development and employment of healing habits
First a moment about bad habits-----.HABITS ARE STRONG BUT BRITTLE, THEY BREAK ONCE THEY ARE DROPPED
Now about good habits… You have developed many, many good habits, the fact that you are alive and reading this proves that. You of course picked up a few bad habits along the way. The best way to drop a bad habit is to replace it with a good habit... I’m sure you have heard over and over WHAT YOU RESIST PERSIST’S. So we do not resist instead we replace. Form a new habit and it breaks the old one. The trick is how to form a new habit. We do it by taking one step at a time…THE JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES STARTS WITH THE FIRST STEP. We look for progress not perfection. We do not try to do too many things at the same time...ONE CAN EAT AN ELEPHANT IF THEY CUT IT UP INTO ENOUGH SMALL PIECES. We need to be tolerant of missteps or slips. OUR GREATEST GLORY COMES NOT FROM NEVER FAILING BUT IN RAISING EVERYTIME WE FALL. Again we are looking for progress not perfection. I am told it takes anywhere from 21 to 40 days of repeating something to make it a habit. TIME FLIES WHEN YOU ARE HAVING FUN. It would be great if we could make it fun to develop a good new habit. One way to make it fun is to reward yourself when you make progress in developing your new habit, and to be kind to yourself at those times when you are not making progress. TODAYS SUCCESS IS YESTERDAY’S FAILURE WHO DID NOT GIVE UP. Another way to drop a bad habit is to replace it with more than one good habit. An example is one as it relates to eating. You may find developing two or three good eating habits such as eating three meals a day, and eating slowly may drop away one big meal that is eaten ferociously. I leave you with this thought
Right Action taken over time leads to Good habits. Good habits pursued over time lead to healing
