When I traveled through Peru and the Peruvian Amazon I saw signs every where of  Peru's system of class discrimination especially the indigenous citizens, and I saw the help that a few rebels offered at the time.

I wanted to write first about the poverty but I also wanted to tell on a special group given special treatment from the Peruvian Government.

That group at least one such person from that group is in my book Peckerwood Twist, that I call 90% true and 10% false or just the opposite.

Captain Nathan Lichtwar I began my over 45-year life on the sea as a young sailor for the U.S. Coast Guard then moved to tug boats, including a stint as a New York Harbor ferryboat operator. I am the owner-operator of Cielo e Mar Charter Service and New York Boat Charter, and was publisher-owner of Cross Up, Long Islands Motorcycle scene.

I have traveled extensively throughout the world, on and off the beaten tract.

And have been a guest on "OPRAH" twice.
