Hold Them
Today is the day we all sit around and give thanks for the blessings that have been bestowed upon us for this last year. Then we stuff ourselves to the gills and lay around afterwards and either sleep off the turkey or we surround ourselves with our family and friends. Take a moment and look around the room and capture each face around you. Hold them close to you and keep them close. Family is where your heart is. Some new members are added and we cherish them and then we get to think of the folks that arent here anymore to share this with.
Look at your parents and thank them for all they brought you in your life time. All the phone calls and shopping trips you've shared together today is the day to thank them.
As you embark on the day today with all the preperations of cooking and cleaning and everything else that went into this day. Just take that breif moment and look around you. None of it matters when there isnt the love surrounding you from your family. Say the words, do you remember when? and you will have many memories to share. Someday it will be us that they remember when they share this day years from now. This is your legecy, all you've worked for sits around you now. Enjoy it and embrace it.

| I love your piece. I am alone today and there will be no dinner; no family; I couldn't even find a charity to volunteer at. I will fry a chicken for myself later. It's been like this since my mother died in 1993. I am from a large family - but I moved away from them 35 years ago. I thank you for your kind works. Alone, but not sad. |
