Over the course of a few months, Janurary through April to be exact, we are hounded by commercials for tax software, tax preparation services, and just about anything else that might be tax related. Turbotax is one such company that will entice you with promises of quick filing, accuracy and ease of use.

Many companies offer such claims. This company however, abides by it. They tell the truth when it comes to these claims. It is important to be careful and read many reviews when you are looking at tax software. It is after all, your taxes that you are dealing with. I do not know of anyone who wants to just jump at a company to do their taxes. From what I have heard the Internal Revenue Service is no agency to fool around with. If one were to ask me, I would tell them to give Turbotax Basic a try.

I absolutely love this software. It is practical and simple to use. If you are single and do not have itemized deductions use Turbotax Basic. This tax preparation program will not only guide you through the process of doing your taxes, it pretty much does them for you. I have found that by typing in a few answers to some simple questions I can get taxes done fast and easy. After you have done this the program pretty much runs itself.

The program will not only get your taxes done at the speed of light, they will be accurate as well. Turbo Tax strives to help you obtain the biggest refund allowed. They offer their basic service for free. Yes, I said free. E-filing with Turbo Tax Basic is also free. This free service is for federal tax filing only. If you need to file a state return there is an additional charge. In this world of high gas prices and the housing crisis, how on earth can any other tax service provider compete with FREE?

With the basic service being free you owe it to yourself to give Turbotax basic a try. Keep in mind that it is a good idea to get reviews of other tax software programs and then make you choice from there. That being said, I do believe that Turbo Tax Basic is setting the standard for service and software usage and that is why I give this software five star rating out on a 1/5 scale.
