Food can be expensive, but it do not have to be. If you are smart you can reduce your grocery bill by half, or fifty percent on a weekly basis. In my recent blog, I mentioned how to find sales items, at grocery stores, supermarkets, and at the farmers markets. The best way is to find out which day of the week the sales paper appear in your area. Purchase a copy of this particular newspaper. Clip cupons. Make a list of needed staples. Fill your pantry. Fresh produce will need a little more care. You will have to purchase some powder preservatives. Don't be afraid of the preservatives that are available in stores. Because you will only be preserving your fresh sales fruits and vegetables for three month at a time. This is a short period, compared to already preserved products that sometimes sits on store shelves for over a year.
If you are getting a great price purchase in quantity, and put to freeze in freezer. Lemon and lime juice can also be used to preserve the color, and condition of fresh produce. Paying less for more has other advantages. Besides reducing your grocery bill, you will spend less on gas, and you wll be reducing the maintainance cost of your vehicle. You will also have extra time to work at a part-time job; attend school; or just enjoy your family. Mix your staples with fresh produce. When you have a balanced diet you will be more satisfied.
