Lamentations from writers telling their stories that are buried deep within themselves for redemptive value. The souls of men cry out for legitimacy!
What lies in the soul of a man? Love, laughter, heartache and sorrow? Pride, fear, rage and contentment? The true measure of a man lies in his heart and in his soul. I remember way back when times were less turbulent, and when hue and cry was just an echo that reverberated with a justified sense of belonging. Now as we cut to the chase, we are on a different journey — a journey where the game of life is about change, choices and hope. These times that are truly trying our souls are prevalent in my mind deep within as I too, diversify my portfolio and become flexible for a good fit on this trip. I find myself writing more and the expressed written content is welcomed. In June of this year (on Father’s Day) a book of deep-seated thoughts will be vociferous. With it, I will have completed the first stage of a transitional state that will be a challenge to my creative juices for the written word. Subsequently there will be other works that I will produce — a book of short stories, poems that I plan to publish, the beginning of a three volume set of accumulated essays, and a full length novel that I’m working on as you’re reading this. But I’m restless, excited and the butterflies are swirling as adrenalin threatens to consume me. I wondering if any of you long-time authors have felt as such? How was it for you when you first ventured out to write, publish and market your initial work to the world? Were there apprehension? Boy, I know I could use whatever encouragement you send my way! Nonetheless, I trudge on…but allow me to digress a bit.
‘THE SOUL OF A MAN’ debuts in June as I mentioned; It’s an anthology with a few of my essays therein. Inasmuch as this book is dear to me for many reasons, it’s my first published work in book form, as opposed to it having significant bearing on the state of the brotherhood in us sharing our most darkest secrets and opinionated views that tend to be thoughts that we keep hidden at times. The gist of the book relates what stirs a man’s deepest thoughts. As an Essayist and a prominent man in the Spirit of the Lord, I, and the souls of men truly want to be understood. Individually, collectively and throughout history, time has measured the successes and failures of men where we’ve had to give accounts of our actions. In some quarters society may not have treated us well, albeit a lot of it may have been faults that lie deep within the psyche of why we’ve been much maligned. Do we have something to say about malaise then and now? What lies deep within the soul of men that need to surface for better understanding?
Now comes the seminal tome that allow a few men to share their opinions and stories. These are deep lamentations that yearn to be heard…revelations of His-story, His-trials, His-fears and His-triumphs that sums up the essence of a magnificent literary work. Within the pages of this anthology readers are given a rare insight as to what lurks in the hearts of men in this candid compilation of great literary prowess and purpose. It presents an admirable collection of inspirational stories that share the innermost thoughts of real men and real issues. The effort embody sincere, candid, and engaging stories about men who dealt with the challenges of life by placing their complete faith in God. William Fredrick Cooper, Jihad, Maurice Gray, Jr, et al are present with something to say. Our stories reveal how faith is used to handle day-to-day struggles, pains, and temptations to show what the test of manhood is all about. The Soul of a Man is Divine truth and an affirmation of the passion running through a group of men where hearts and souls are bared. I’m one of them — hear my cry and join us on this journey. Your support and open ears will do much to give benefits to any doubt…and perhaps understand the men in YOUR life! Can I count on you to support me?
