you might just get it...

Careful what you vote for…

                                                You just might get it

Update: USSU- (United States Socialist Union), France, Germany, Canada, Japan announce bankrupcty do to socialized health care, isolationism, and government controlled business. Sounds crazy? Maybe not so far off with the current administrations Robin Hood platforms and taxing the Evil Empire-you know-Wall Street and Businesses, the ones that hire all of us and make the world go around. Did I mention it is George Bush’s entire fault? Or was it Bill Clinton, or Jimmy Carter, or…Congress? The Senate? It is always interesting to hear arguments about politics, finger pointing as to who is at fault.

The only finger they really have not pointed to yet is their own. Let’s look at a few major points of interest:

  • Top 3 of 4 government officials had to pull back their nominations because of “Tax Problems”, but they still appointed one that did basically tax evasion to head the IRS (maybe he should write a book-how to beat the IRS using turbo tax).
  •  Like AIG bonuses, no doubt they should never had been paid, but the administration approved the package. They tried to make Liddy working for $1 Darth Vader, he quickly pointed out that he was only implementing the bill they approved! Which means they did not read their own document or they can’t read.
  • I am amazed that we have turned a corner on verbiage: terrorism is too harsh a word? They murdered 3000 of our citizens!
  • Opportunity has been labeled as greed?
  • Tax the rich, raise corporate taxes, and eliminate loopholes for the rich and companies-eventually you will have no one left to tax, or you lose your job because the company has to pay taxes or you? Or left the US totally.
  • Well if you think about raising taxes on the rich in the latest proposal-if you make over 250,000 year, think about someone who lives in NJ (median home price over 300,000), MD, NY, CT (or another high cost state) has a family of 5, insurance, their portion of health care premiums, 35% federal tax, 8% state tax, 7.7% FICA tax, not including sales tax, gas, homeowners insurance, electric, other utilities, maybe college costs, now you will lose your mortgage deduction now they want us to pay a penalty for doing better-think about that stimulus.
  • Wanting to give illegal immigrants the right to vote, taxing our 401K’s, Pensions and Profit Sharing plans so they can re-distribute this to illegal immigrants so they can live the same lifestyle we do (how about getting a job and paying taxes). Why do think that is? Oh, that’s right a vote for an entitlement. Keeps me in power. Ask California about entitlement programs, oops, I forgot they are broke.
  • How about fixing welfare-tax them as income since it appears to be their primary job. Oh, that’s right-THEY WON’T VOTE for ME if I do that. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for programs that really help families that need it, or giving tax breaks to low income families (not generations of families on welfare), there are ways to do this, economic decisions-NOT POLITICAL ones.

  • We need to fix the economy immediately-well…my (primarily socialized) programs and so-called stimulus doesn’t take effect until 2010 and 2011. And did I mention I’m giving everybody a really, really, nice big tax increase when I let that scoundrel George Bush’ tax incentives expire?
  • Did they mention for the middle class that they are still not indexing the AMT parallel tax to inflation? It was originally designed to make sure the wealthy paid their fair share of taxes, your income tax brackets, exemptions, and standard deductions are adjusted annually for inflation, AMT is not. Which means more and more of us will get hit with the dreaded AMT, from around 4 million in 2008 to 28 million in 2009. Why won’t they correct it? It would cost around 2 trillion dollars added to the already ballooning deficit over the next 8 to 10 years! Who it affects the most; lots of kids and exemptions, INCOMES over 75,000, large mortgage deductions, capitals gains, etc. So much for tax breaks for 95% of America.
  • Original amount on “the view” for those rich people was 75,000 per year who should be taxed higher, went to 250,000, went to 150,000, now he is going to give 95% of America a tax break-yeah right.
  • GM, weeks, and weeks, of daily testimony for the world to hear our congressional leaders tell us how they can’t make it, talk about bankruptcy, give them billions-but can’t figure out why nobody is buying a GM car, now we own them. Sweet
  • Let’s give banks trillions of dollars, buy their mortgages, take the “toxic” assets off the books, and don’t make them do anything except buy other banks and clean up their balance sheets, ease how they report profit and losses, and not make any rules of how to use our money! . By all means lets nationalize them so we can own them to! Nice
  • No doubt America needs to reduce debt, (even though our government is increasing debt beyond anyone’s imagination), just not from 300% leverage to zero leverage overnight.
  • One of my favorites is how banks are helping the small business and consumer-Hey business man, your credit line is now how much you owe us, so stop using it, hey consumer, we reduced your credit line and raised your interest rate! Such a deal!
  • By the way-how does it feel to labeled a “toxic asset”? Since they lent us the money and we now have lent them money with our tax dollars to get rid of us? Kind of like a nuclear power plant with Homer Simpson running it?
  • Its easy, lets unionize America!
  • Acorn, Unions donating billions of dollars through payroll deductions to avoid taking money from lobbyists
  • I’m going to line by line on ear marks, he did…yep that ones good, yep that one to, lets add one here, the whole campaigning against ear marks, then gets on national TV and tells us now there good.
  • I inherited this 1.3 trillion deficit (I think if I hear that one more time I’m going to throw up, I guess it was Bush’s fault for the recession he inherited from Clinton? Or the Tech bubble he got? Or 911? Of which almost all occurred during his first few months in office). That’s why I’m adding 3.9 trillion, 2 trillion for the banks, 2 trillion +++ for health care (roughly 10 trillion), Medicaid, Medicare, free cell phone and internet, etc. I’m proud to say that in less than 100 days in office I have and will add more government, taxes, and spending that all 43 previous presidents combined! That’s from George W to George W.
  • We need to stop this abusive partying by corporate parties-that’s why I spent 40 million dollars for my inaugural ball!
  • So far, the only ones making and are ask to make sacrifices are us, we stop spending when we have no money left in our checkbooks, our government keeps spending and adding to spending with no sacrifices.
  • 10.7 trillion deficit, 2 trillion owed to China, a ton to Japan, at some point inflation will kick in, the fed will be forced to tighten money, taxes will need to be raised across the board (which will cost more jobs and pain), WE WILL ALL PAY FOR THIS-you who makes 25,000, 50,000, 100,000 and so on. France has a 20% corporate tax, personal income tax starts at 58%. Socialism is great.
  • Fear mongering is the tactics of dictators

Of course we could on and on, the real issues of America are THIS IS AMERICA, the land of opportunity, not the land of entitlement! You need to remember the original intent of health benefits and so on came after World War II to help our GI’S. When Ronald Reagan took office (don’t roll your eyes), he took over for Jimmy Carter, 14% inflation, 15+- unemployment, 70% tax brackets and around a 5 trillion dollar economy, France, Germany, Japan, all around 4-5 trillion economies. Reagan brought in Fed chairman Paul Volker and for the first time-tightened money, brought inflation down to 4%, Reagan lowered taxes to 28%, and everybody thought he was crazy. Well, under Reagan’s “entrepreneurial programs vs. government”, 20 years later; Japan, Germany, France, all around 4-5 trillion dollar economies, US-15 trillion. Yes sir, if that is capitalism and trickle down reagonmics, I want more.

Main street America is about individuals taking risks (not abuse), sharing their dreams by growing and hiring “the workingman” (like me and you) paying them as fair a wage as they can afford, providing company benefits for them and their families, paying taxes, supporting the communities they live in, supporting additional business around them, by all means, let’s tax the crap out em, put them out of business or reduce the workforce because of higher corporate and personal income tax, forcing mandatory health care or get punished, shipping a job overseas get punished even though they have plants,  (shame on them for being successful and giving us a job), so that we can support someone who does not want to work.

What concerns me the most is the attitude change, Hey, he has more than I do, I better get busy and earn more or do better (competition), now it is Hey-you have more share it with me!

When the speaker of the house makes statements of such arrogance: We don't care what you think, we won the election so we trump you-so much for bi-partisan relationships, more like perverted partisanship-lets get back to at least a two party system for checks and balances. I'm all for programs that really help people-just not the abuse that goes on. My eight year old was watching Obama speak and talking about all these programs, she turned and asked me how was he going to pay for all this...I said honey, he is not-you are, your children, and your children’s children. 1.3 trillion doesn’t sound so bad.

Listen carefully to what you vote for

Like John said below, people voted for change, and are they ever getting it. Things are happening so fast, I can hardly keep up with it all. In fact, I think I am going to stay away from TV and that constant barrage they are lobbing at us. It is beginning to get under my skin and taking its toll on me. I don't like what is happening in our country, but I'm afraid there's not a thing I can do but let it continue to happen. Thanks for allowing me to vent for a little while.

Good article, but I'm afraid it's too late. The people in power truly believe that since they have won they can dictate anything they please. They can arbitrarily raise taxes on anything, spend trillions of tax payer dollars on a whim, fire anybody they don't like from their jobs (even if they are employed by someone else). It won’t be long before people like me and you are told…. Shut up or else. Like the man said, the people voted for change and when pressured the final answer..... I won. God help us.
