I think the term or label “Spirit Guide” was created at a time when society was in a spiritual lull, and looking for something beyond reality to save them. But since the early 2000′s, after accepting the reality the other side was attempting to contact me, and then nurturing that connection, I am convinced spirit guides are more like life companions trying to learn from us more than being there to help us deal with everyday life. But the degree to which they want to learn from us, and continue to learn from is the motivating factor in their attempts at stopping us from fatal situations.

Soon after accepting the reality I could touch heal people by way of reading the imbalances in their auras, I was made aware entities were working through me. The more help I provided, the greater the spiritual side promoted me as a healer. After several years of doing this healing work, I sensed an entity over my left shoulder, offering assistance. I took that help for granted, assuming at the level I was helping people I was in need of help or a friend. However, in 2006, I went through personal drama which would change my perspective of society. I was positive situations would work out differently than they did. Those life decisions I made were based on the information the spiritual side was providing. They went on the assumption the outcomes they were showing would be of benefit to both sides. To this day I am convinced the results are based on people making non-spiritual and selfish decisions on action I took.

Being aware of an entity over my left shoulder (a belief confirmed by every pet which comes within eyesight), I sought confirmation from a spiritual advisor I contacted shortly after the drama began in 2006. She confirmed my belief, noting the guide is Native American (strange considering I am Canadian). She was convinced various things in my life would turn out differently than they did, and she was puzzled at why things were not working out. She would remain my adviser until her passing in May 2011. At that point, an interesting event would happen for me.

I was invited to attend her crossing over, and that celebration would involve being in a semi-trance  which would last approximately 3 hours. That celebration would take place while I was at work, and its conclusion would involve her becoming another spirit companion for me. She appeared as a bright light slightly ahead of me to my right, and slightly above eye level. At times, when she wants me to be aware she is there, she floats between right shoulder and eye-line.

Both companions are there, both learning from my decisions and offering assistance when they feel I am putting my life in jeopardy. They take action in subtle ways, such as making a situation feel warm for taking action, or cold when I am to stop and allow a danger to pass. But in no way are these spiritual beings there to force me to make a decision. Free will is always under my control, but since being made aware of their presence, I know their insight are always the best possible route to take in my situation, and I am convinced the decisions I took in 2006 were correct. The spirit guides continue to provide visions of the people who reacted differently than the expected outcome for a productive end, and these people struggle with their everyday life.
