Synopsis This is the story on a creative woman's search for meaning in her life, her journey into Paradise where she makes friends with the ghosts of her past and comes to understand herself and enjoy her present.
"Mirage is a poetic, sensuous novel with an intriguing plot and riveting style. It is the story of the artist as a woman, struggling with the meaning of her art in a society more-conditioned to crass commercialism. When Winona Sylvia Glen wins a lottery to Paradise, she assumes her dreams will come true in the gift of her own gallery she names Mirage....When Sylvia is ready to paint, "she can almost smell the colors burning in her brain." The novel becomes a one-woman exhibition of paintings because of memories from Winona's past. Sylvia feels the ghost of her father (and other characters) surrounding her as she begins to decode her dreams... With unusual irony, the author makes her readers face the absurdities of life as well the hypocrisy and unexpected kindness. Her vivid vision becomes the theme of MIRAGE: real love is loving who you are in whatever place that may be."
