Today the word “closure” has become a cliché. Yet we do need to find ways to heal and begin a new life while respecting the memory of a departed loved one.
How do we do that as yet unfinished work? Down what roads might we travel after a loved one dies? For each of us it will be as unique as the life of the loved one we cared for and as different as the experiences lived in the course of that care giving.
friends old and new discover in yourselves and each other that which continues to provide meaning to life. May you mine those reassurances which secure the bonds of friendship even as you gain confidence that you are again in control of your life. May you expect to live, love and laugh again.
As you move ahead mindful of the life you have so lovingly and intimately served, make that road in part pilgrimage and in part exploration so you can fully live again.
