Joining Facebook

Last week I joined Facebook and have found it quite interesting. I even put an event for my writing on there.
Facebook might have been spoken of here before, but I joined last week and am having a very good time there.

My cousin invited me and said she had some photos there. I joined to see the photos. That was worth the joining since the photos and the people in them were beautiful.

Anyway, my sister-in-law was visiting and invited me to be her friend from her laptop on the couch five feet away from mine. Then her daughter, my niece, friended me, as well as my other sister-in-law, and then my daughters found out from mutual friends that I had joined and became my friends. Next there was a granddaughter.

I asked my oldest grandson to be my friend, and then his fiance asked me to be her friend. I found out all sorts of nice things on his facebook place, like that my two daughters, his aunts, had wished him a happy birthday last week.

I had avoided asking my other grandson and granddaughter to be friends as I thought I might "cramp" their style. But my grandson, who is a genius (fact not bragging) then asked me to be his friend. When I went to his "facebook page" I discovered he is a regular university student with lots of friends and social activities and has an absolutely gorgeous girl friend. He had photos from Thanksgiving at my house on his facebook page, given him by my daughter, his Aunt Peggy.

In 1985-1986, a foreign exchange student from Australia came to live with us and I get her daily messages of what she is doing.

I know I could email these people, but I'd get nice little messages and not lots of photos and what they are doing and thinking.

My granddaughter who is a junior in high school has not asked to be my friend yet. She is probably going, "Oh no, not Grandma on facebook!"

I couldn't help but think that all these people were emailing each other with, "OMG, Mom (Grandma) is on facebook! Watch what you put on your facebook page!"
