LIFE IS GRAND!
2/9/2008 7:44:48 PM
I am so grateful! I can't say that enough or feel it enough. I'm grateful for my family - my sons and daughter, my sisters, my friends and fellow writers AND my two feline babies. I'm grateful to have a roof over my head, and beautiful furnishings surrounding me. I'm thankful I have a car. I'm thankful I can and am able to travel. And topping the list, I'm grateful for good health.

When I see all the horrible things that happen to others, the wounded and dead, the atrocious assaults on children, the abuse doled out to men and women of all ages, and the weather tragedies, it makes me even more grateful that I am who I am and where I am in this time and place.

So when I start to complain about anything, I just remind myself about who and where I am and then I'm grateful all over again.

And when I begin to think how swamped I am with the editing work that has come in as a result of the offering of my services ... I say I am grateful. I'm not going to dwell on the word "swamped." My pocketbook is grateful, believe me, and I'm loving it. Besides, I truly care about other writers and if I can help in any way to make their submissions easier to read, then I'm happy. It's a challenge, though, with all that's on my plate. And I'm grateful.

I think back to a time not so long ago, when I first began taking writing seriously. I had no idea it would come to this, that my entire life would evolve around writing. There are my own books and novels to write, there are manuscripts of others that I'm editing, there are my many blogs and websites to keep current, and there is the Wizards of Words Writers Org. Writing is my life. And I'm grateful.

Of course my sons do manage to get me out and about quite often, they don't let me stay in the hermit mode in which I'm so very comfy. And the periodic travel and conferences and book fests get me out and about, too. But as a rule, I'm spending anywhere between 9 to 10 hours a day on the computer writing or reading or editing.

I always say "Do what you love, love what you do."

Isn't life grand?
