Thanksgiving in the Mountains...

Happy Thanksgiving from the mountains of Kentucky. Even though I've not been in the den in a few weeks, know that I've not forgotten any of you. I think of you often, and have touched base with a few on facebook. May God bless each of you with a wonderful day filled with laughter, joy, peace, health, and happiness. As I blog this morning I sit at the bar in my kitchen with the aroma of turkey in the air, the house is quiet as Den is out early hunting this morning. Our son is in Alabama with his family so our wonderful granddaughter and her mom can enjoy time with her family. I miss them, but count my blessings that they are healthy and able to travel to their destination. We are expecting our daughter and her family for dinner later, and left overs are just as good with our son and his family when they return home to Kentucky. It's been a very busy school year for me, as well as a challenging one. I have twenty eight students in my classroom the most I've ever had at one time. The students are all very well behaved, it just takes so much to address all of them individually as they need and deserve. I'm not complaining, but thrilled that many parents requested that their child be placed in my classroom. Most of the parents came to school on Tuesday and shared Thanksgiving dinner with our class and their child. The children dressed as Pilgrims and Indians, I dressed as a Native American...it was a festive and exciting day that I hope will provide many lasting memories with my students and parents. My children's book "A Path of Stitches" is in the final stages of publishing, I am very excited and will be anxious to share it with everyone. It's been a challenge to meet the demands of deadlines, revisions, while also planning for my classroom, grading papers, and running a household...whew, talk about being busy! But, anyway a turkey is calling my name...needs a little basting. Anyway, may God bless each of you, enjoy the holiday and I'll be back soon, for now blessings from the mountains of Kentucky this beautiful, crisp, Thanksgiving day...
