Macaws and Cockatoos

Inspired by those around me.
I'm not so consistent with blogs... but I will try to start!
For the past year I have been blessed to do what I love to do for a living full time. What a gift it is that God has given me… to be able to make others happy with a painting or a poem.
Yesterday I stopped by a restaurant located close to my gallery. I gave the owner a photo print of the painting that I did of her and her establishment, “The Lost Parrot”. It was such a treat to hear how much she loved the painting and how special she felt that I included her place in the series of Mount Dora paintings.
After a nice conversation she told me how she would love to have “real” art in her restaurant, but times are tough and money is tight. When I offered to paint a few that would fit her décor… Patty was elated.
What she doesn’t understand is how she blessed me with her appreciation. I couldn’t sleep last night because I had paintings of Macaw’s and Cockatoos flying in my head.
I can’t wait to bless her shop with images that she loves. I don’t care if the paintings ever sell…. I don’t care if I never see a dime for my efforts or for the raw materials. What I have already received is so much more than monetary gain. I have gained appreciation, a feeling of self worth, and a new friend.
