Looking for Promotion Ideas

Looking for suggestions on promoting my books.
I love writing, creating people and worlds of adversity for my characters to trudge through and come out the other side wiser, stronger and better human beings. The fact that people like to read my stories is an added bonus.
The only problem I seem to have is promoting my work. So, what I'd like to do is ask everyone out there if they have any suggestions on how I can go about promoting myself and my stories.
Please keep in mind at this time my books are in ebook form. (With the promise of them going to print eventually.)
So, if you have any clever, new, creative low budget ways of advertising, promoting and selling PLEASE let me know.
