Putting Down the Words
2/27/2008 12:04:44 PM
I have a need to write today but I am not sure what I am to write about. I wonder how many others feel this way. I could just journal, in this case blog, or take myself to that place where I write my best poems. I could work on my short story conversation skills, pump out an article on a current topic of interest or favorite book. I never have a lack of words, rather debate what words I am to pull out of my center to put down on the page. My peaceful quiet home is going to become full of children soon and I almost feel as if I may have missed my opportunity today for a long writing block. I am also contemplating how I can design a retreat away from home to write. The problem is, while my husband graduated with an English degree, he really isn't a writer by my definition. He doesn't write for the pleasure of writing. And, he doesn't get how I need the writer's getaway. Maybe some of you can relate.
