Louise Penny 4/21/2013 10:31:17 AM Although she is very well known, I wanted to draw your attention to the work of Louise Penny. She has written a number of mysteries featuring Chief Inspector Gamache of the Quebec Surete. Her latest novel, The Beautiful Mystery, will painlessly teach you more than you ever expected about Gregorian chant in the context of a fascinating mystery. The subplot of conflict within the police department will also hold your attention. This is a good example of a well researched book that wears its scholarship lightly, and doesn't allow imparting information to get in the way of the plot. This is a book worth reading.
Also, please remember that my book, The Hero Pose, is coming out in may and is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble on preorder.
